Kenny is a very special 14-year-old youth who thrives with one-to-one attention. He is challenged with cerebral palsy. However, Kenny is a hard worker, and can build on his acquired skills. It is important for Kenny to feel secure and to be in a predictable environment. Kenny has a wonderful disposition, a great sense of humour, and has fun at school. He really benefits from multi-sensory teaching. Kenny enjoys helping out in the kitchen and being around adults. Kenny will need a home that is wheelchair accessible. He will need loving and patient parents that will be able to advocate for him and have realistic expectations for him.

Mickey wants to be adopted and have his own family. He is an absolutely delightful 15-year-old youth. He will engage in discussions about a wide variety of interests, and while he has definite opinions about things, he will listen to and consider the other side of views as well. He loves fishing, and has an impressive collection of gear. He has recently developed an interest in coins and is totally involved in this as well. He is entertaining, full of life and very engaging. He has a lot of energy, therefore needs to be kept active and involved. If not, he will find something to keep himself occupied, such as putting together or taking something apart. Mickey has a program in school to meet his developmental needs. He is full of ideas and has set goals about what he wants to do when he is all grown up. Mickey would do best in a family where he is the only child or youngest of much older siblings.

Nadia dreams of one day becoming a lawyer, and she has set her sights on going to university. Nadia enjoys traveling, and excels in sports such as volleyball. Nadia struggles with trusting that the adults in her life will remain committed to her. She needs a family who will give her individualized attention, with the capacity to love and guide her through her adolescence unconditionally. Nadia is best described as a bright, articulate, high-spirited young girl who will thrive in a family that can offer her acceptance, stability and love.

Spencer is a wonderful combination of talent, complexity, activity as well as being a typical 13-year-old youth. He is an artist at heart, with a huge talent that is just waiting to flourish. His art work is both intriguing and captivating. His sense of imagination is endless. He is absolutely charming and loves to please and help around the house. He is usually the first one out the house to help with bringing the groceries in. He is also quite athletic and loves to be outdoors. Spencer would do best in a family that can provide structure and consistency with a lot of patience, good sense of humour, and like Spencer, can “think outside the box”. An active family that can provide ample opportunity to nurture his talent for art would be welcomed.

Sylvie is a 15-year-old teenager who is fun, talkative and a real “breath of fresh air”. She is a natural athlete and shines on her snowboard. She loves music and has started dancing lessons. She is quite the whiz on the computer. Sylvie has a wide circle of interests and would like to become a chef, OR a dancer and singer OR own a restaurant OR be a private investigator. She understands the concept of starting at the bottom of the ladder and working herself up. Sylvie loves to travel. Sylvie needs to be adopted with her brother, Simon. Sylvie has a lot of potential and with stability and love will do very well in life.
